EIDD – Design for All Europe was represented by President, Rama Gheerawo, as guest of honour and Alberto Zanobini , board member , at the annual AIPI Italian Interior design Assocation event AGO25. Rama’s powerful and resonant keynote speech was a pivotal moment in the programme, inspiring the entire assembly and underlining the transformative role of interior inclusive design in shaping equitable societies.
Another key moment came from Alberto Zanobini, that outlined pioneering policies and initiatives aimed at creating more accessible and inclusive regional environments, and marked a roadmap for potential future collaboration between Tuscany ,EIDD, and AIPI opening perspectives for joint action.
The event also highlighted the strong engagement of the italian interior dersign professional community in addressing inclusion through design practice. Moderated by journalists Cristina Mandrini and Roberta Mutti, the roundtables explored critical issues and opportunities, bringing together designers, researchers, companies, and institutions in a constructive exchange.

The programme featured some impactful case studies:
– A biophilic design project for the waiting room of Ospedale Umberto I Siracusa by Carmela Palumbo (Sicily Delegation), showing how natural and sensory elements improve user experience.
– “Casa senza confini” (“House Without Borders”) by Letizia Bonatti with Marcella Benedetti, a living model that removes barriers and promotes autonomy.
EIDD acknowledges and congratulates AIPI for the quality of this edition, which strongly aligned with the principles of Design for All, fostering a culture of inclusion through practice, partnerships, and shared strategies.
This collaboration confirms EIDD’s commitment to building bridges between design, policy, and communities, working together with national and international partners to advance inclusive environments and opportunities for all.
