EDIDesK Project – WP3 Progress: Major Milestone Achieved
The EDIDesK Project “Open Access Contents on Design for Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion for Higher Education Programmes” (Erasmus+ KA220-HED) continues to advance Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) in design education.
Work Package 3 (WP3) – led by the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava (STU) – develops replicable and scalable methodologies for teaching Design for EDI across product, service, and communication design as well as architecture.
As part of this work, 17 design modules were mapped and tested across partner universities in Italy, Poland, Slovakia, and Spain, validating the EDI Teaching Framework in real courses. The results are presented in two deliverables 3.2.1 and 3.2.2, each comprising five detailed reports (for a total of ten). Results are available in two publicly accessible deliverables, each including five detailed reports:
- Deliverable 3.2.1 – “Testing the Teaching Framework on Design Modules”
Implementation and testing of the framework across 17 modules, with insights into its adaptability across disciplines. - Deliverable 3.2.2 – “Results of Testing Teaching Framework and Modules”
Analysis of results and evidence-based recommendations for embedding EDI in design curricula.
Together, these deliverables provide open-access resources and actionable guidelines to support higher education institutions in systematically integrating EDI principles.
WP3 is moving toward completion, with additional results, recommendations, and teaching resources to be released in the coming months — a crucial step in building a more inclusive, diverse, and equitable future for design education.
